El viento fuerte vuelve al ser humano maleable y capaz de llevarlo de un lado al otro de forma inesperada; tiene el poder de transportarnos a lugares impensados. Esto es lo que sucede con La Sudestada, film de Daniel Casabé y Edgardo Dieleke que hizo su estreno en el Festival BAFICI.
Villafañez (Juan Carrasco) es un detective privado de los de antes, refunfuñón pero con valores, que un día es contratado por un marido -que se siente dejado de lado más allá de la inevitable separación- para investigar a la reconocida coreógrafa de danza contemporánea Elvira Shulz (Katja Alemann) mientras ensaya lo que será su retrospectiva. Lo que empieza como un trabajo más, siguiéndola hasta una isla del Delta para verla bailar desnuda bajo la lluvia, se empieza a convertir en una obsesión que le cambiará para siempre su vida y sus sueños.
Basada en la novela gráfica de Juan Sáenz Valiente, el film tiene elementos de todos los géneros posibles, lo que hace complicado situarlo en uno sólo: por momentos es cine noir porteño, por otros es una comedia, una fantasía y no sobra la parte musical. Todo encaja en su momento específico y se anima a combinarlos espléndidamente.
Cuenta también con las excelentes actuaciones de Juan Carrasco y Katja Alemann, quienes funcionan juntos y por separado. Es un placer verlos en pantalla, cada uno aportando una cuota de misterio en sus miradas, que el espectador permanentemente cuestionará si esconden algo más de lo que se observa a simple vista.
Es, además, una excelente muestra en lo técnico: tiene un maravilloso diseño de sonido -que le valió una mención especial en las premiaciones-, efectos visuales que sobresalen de la pantalla, y un manejo de luces y sombras que llevan a esta cinta hacia otra órbita.
La sudestada es un viaje de ensueño para verla bien despiertos.
