Esta serie dramática explora temas de poder y la dinámica familiar a través de la mirada del patriarca Logan Roy (Brian Cox) y sus cuatro hijos, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin) y Connor (Alan Ruck).
En la cuarta y última temporada, la venta del conglomerado de medios Waystar Royco al visionario tecnológico Lukas Matsson, se encuentran cada vez más cerca. La posible venta provoca angustia existencial y división familiar entre los Roy, ya que anticipan cómo serán sus vidas una vez que se complete el trato. Por está acción, se produce una lucha por el poder cuando la familia considera un futuro en el que su peso cultural y político se reduce drásticamente.
